Hello everyone.

This is my first official JSW48K game, Plants vs. Zombies.

This project is heavily inspired by the classic game Plants vs. Zombies officially developed by PopCap Games, drawing references to its character sprites, visual assets and original soundtracks.

As for copyright matters, I regard this work as a pure fan creation. I absolutely respect the rights to Plants vs. Zombies. But I think the partial use of classic game elements does not involve any copyright infringement.

Here is the story behind this production. First launched in 2009, Plants vs. Zombies quickly gained huge popularity across China. Its great success even led PopCap to set up its Shanghai branch to develop customized editions for the Chinese market. This game has been an indispensable part of the childhood of all post-2000s gamers, including myself.

When I decided to develop my debut JSW game, I ran into difficulties. Building a complete original game world from scratch would be extremely time-consuming, and I was concerned that I could not finish such massive creative work independently. For this reason, I chose to adopt classic elements from Plants vs. Zombies. I hope to complete my first JSW game in this way and fulfill my childhood feelings and memories at the same time.

Most in-game sprites are adapted from the original work, covering 21 out of the total 49 plants and 12 out of 26 zombies in the original game. All the majority of game scenes and maps are independently designed by me.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Daniel Gromann for his great support and contributions. He optimized and upgraded the game engine, integrated new background music together with complete audio playback logic, enriched the sprite resource library, designed more than ten extra game scenes, and finished the title screen design and other related content. I apologize if there are any unmentioned contributions.
